Listed on page 53, Volume 1 of Springfield Research Service’s “SERIAL NUMBERS OF U.S. MARTIAL ARMS” serial number 372427 Springfield-Krag U.S. Model 1898 rifle is listed as shipped to the United States Marine Corps on March 1, 1902 for the first Hilton Trophy Match Marine Rifle Team to use in the first (1903) National Military and Naval National Matches . One of only a few Marine Corps National Archives documented Krag rifles. All original as professionally restored and now in near mint condition. All matching with visible Ordnance inspection cartouche and “P” proof. Excellent bore and in perfect working order. Only documented Marine Corps we have ever had. $3500.
