Special focus on custom contemporary muzzleloading rifles and black powder cartridge rifles. Description: Here is a neat and handy rolling block carbine chambered in 12.7x44R. Brass from shortened .50 Alaskan and use .50-70dies to reload. It started life as a Swedish Model 1864 kammerlader (breechloader). After 1868, it was converted to a rolling block action. In 1885, most M64/68 rifles were converted to carbines for Artillery and Engineer units. It has an 18" barrel with moderately pitted bore (all M64/68/85 carbines were used hard) with deep rifling. They handle soft lead bullets well and are reasonably accurate for what they are. Handy tree stand gun. Crisp, tight action. Sadly, receiver heavily reblued. Stocks in good condition. Small crack on left wrist at receiver. Unit disc present. I believe that the plate “PB 3K No94” means: Pontonjärbataljonen 3e kompaniet. Bridge building battalion 3rd company. $450 + Shipping. SOLD |
