The New Line was a single action pocket revolver introduced by the Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company in 1873 and continued through 1884, with the .22 caliber being manufactured between 1873 and 1877 with a total of roughly 55,343 being manufactured. The revolver features 7 shots of .22 rimfire. Of all the Colt “New Line” revolvers made, the .22 caliber was the only one featuring a 7 shot cylinder. All other calibers utilized a 5-shot cylinder. Etched on the left side of the barrel is “COLT NEW 22”. The overall condition is nearing fine. Bright, original nickel finish. The action fully functions but the timing is late. Fine grips. Sharp markings. The bore is in good shape overall, rifled with a nice shimmer. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-1/4 inches.
