Description:
This untouched original Model 1885 High-wall rifle is chambered in 32-40 with a No. 3 weight barrel with an exceptional bore. This 1887 production rifle is standard configuration and remains in very fine condition. The barrel retains about 95% original blue overall which is thinning evenly and showing some silvering along the high edges. The action retains a simular amount of the vivid original color case-hardened finish and both the barrel and action are properly devoid of any proofs. The plain walnut stock and fore-end rate about excellent showing about 95% of the original finish overall with the belly of the fore-end showing the most thinning. There are scattered light handling marks along with perhaps a bit of light cracking all adding to the completely honest nature of this rifle. The rifle is sighted with Rocky Mountain front and semi-buckhorn barrel sights. A very handsome collector quality High Wall Rifle.
