Description:
Serial #8764, .32 Rim Fire (black powder), 2.5 inch barrel with a fine dark bore. This is the "Protector" revolver marked on the barrel top with patent date of April 23, 1878 and features patriotic hard rubber grips with crossed flags. Although unmarked with manufacture name these pistols are attributed to Bliss & Goodyear who was know to have used the "Protector" name. In near excellent condition the nickel plated spur trigger revolver retains about 85-90% of the original bright finish with flaked areas that have turned plum brown on the frame and cylinder. The grips are solid with excellent detail showing moderate wear. Mechanically it is sound locking up tight with proper indexing holding at half and full cock with a crisp trigger pull. A great functioning example of these neat little pistols. Antique;
