A 6 month lay-a-way is available for this outstanding "Collector grade" 1967 Savage 99PE Presentation Grade (serial # 1142349) in the very desirable 243 Winchester with 22" barrel that remains in "just about mint" condition and unfired. The 243 Winchester is one of the most sought after calibers of the three calibers that were offered, 243, 284 & 308, in the 99PE. I have had fourteen PEs come through my shop over the last four years and only three were in the 243. The wood on this PE is just gorgeous and full of beautiful grain, the engraving is just perfect, as is the bluing. This particular PE is featured in David Royal's book "Savage Model 1895, 1899 & 99 Rifles, volume 2, Engraved and Special-Feature Models" on page 78. The PE was manufactured from 1965 to 1970 and was one of the first factory engraved guns since the 99K in 1940. The satin silver finished receiver has full coverage, factory engraving with a mountain lion on the right receiver and a bull elk on the left receiver. The Monte Carlo stock and forearm are made of highly figured American black walnut with fine hand cut checkering. Look at the pictures!
