Description:
Marlin model 1893 with 26" octagon barrel in 38-55 Winchester caliber. Made in 1899. Bullseye style rear peep sight. Smooth, crisp action. Really nice screw slots. Marked Marlin Safety and Special Smokeless Steel, shiny bore with sharp, pronounced rifling. No major pits or craters observed. Old epoxy repair to some gouges in butt stock as shown in pics. No extra holes drilled in top tang or receiver. A great looking shooter, worthy of display too. Test fired several times and function is perfect. Bore slugged at .379" groove diameter, which is typical of 38-55s from that era. The photos will tell the rest of the story. Non-shooting, non-disassembly 3 day inspection period runs from receipt by your FFL/C&R. Buyer contributes $50 toward USPS ground shipping. Personal checks accepted but held until cleared, of course.
