$3500 shipped. 1750 for scope only. This is Lones Wigger's Winchester 52E with Unertl 24x scope. Scope has excellent optics. Some exterior wear, a small dent in the objective which doesn't affect performance. A great piece of shooting history that is still eminently usable. I purchased this from the USA Shooting to support the Lones Wigger Youth Program Endowment. The scope is 24x with a fine crosshair and 1/8 minute dot. Scope and rifle for sale together for $3500, the rifle was a gift from Herb Hollister to Lones Wigger. This is the rifle that Herb was holding on the cover of The American Rifleman.
Winchester Model 52E custom .22 LR. Serial E123255 has been fitted with a 28-inch Douglas stainless steel barrel (1.140-inch muzzle diameter, recessed crown). The action has been fitted with an aperture base and the safety has been removed. The aftermarket stock is a broad laminate with forend accessory rail and adjustable comb (can be raised approximately .25-inch, spacers are absent). OPTIC: A Unertl 24x scope (serial 19961) with adjustable objective and dot reticle is mounted on barrel blocks.
Per the Wigger estate, this rifle was gifted to Lones Wigger by his good friend Herb Hollister and is the same rifle pictured with Hollister on the cover of the October, 1983 issue of American Rifleman. I'll include a copy of all documents with the purchase of only the scope or all the original documents and an original issue of The American Rifleman shown if the scope and rifle are bought together. Partial trade considered for Sig-Sauer SSG 3000. Will consider reasonable offers, can't hurt to ask.
