Description:
Serial #94, .31 Caliber black powder percussion, 4 inch part round / part octagon barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling. This is the Bacon & Co. Single Shot, Ring Trigger percussion pistol manufactured from 1852-1858 in Norwich, CT with only some 400 estimated to have been produced. The barrel is marked "BACON & CO. NORWICH, C-T / CAST STEEL". In very good to fine antique condition the metal surfaces are mostly pewter gray with clear markings and detailed decorative scroll engraving. The original walnut grips are solid with old surface marks and small contusions. It cocks and fires properly with a very nice, crisp trigger pull. A great example of these scarce little ring trigger "boot" pistols. Antique
