C. SHARPS, BIG TIMBER, MONTANA MADE, CUSTOM 1885 HIGH WALL .45-70 OCTAGON RIFLE, #85-5XX. This beautiful rifle was made on a thick side High Wall action with single set trigger with adjustment screw. It features a pistol grip stock of rich, deep brown dense walnut quite a bit fancier than standard. It also has a checkered steel shotgun butt plate, cheek piece with accent line and schnable forend tip. The barrel is a No. 4 (and so marked on the bottom flat in front of the forend as on Winchester High Walls) 30" octagon with no rear barrel dovetail. It is polished blue with the "OLD RELIABLE" stamping on top etc. The receiver has an octagon top and is beautifully case colored. It is fitted with a mid-range Soule tang sight with eye disc adjustable for aperture size and a globe front sight with built in spirit level that will take inserts. Weighs approx. 11 3/4 lbs. Excellent inside and out. Aside from some very minor handling marks that you'd have to search carefully to find, it's about like new. Ready to go for the target range or field. Highest quality made here in Montana!
