Smoothbore CIVIL WAR Musket w/BUFF LEATHER SLING
Here we present an antique French Model 1816 Flintlock Musket, made in 1822 at the French State Arsenal at Charleville. This musket is part of the long line of high quality French Flintlock muskets—muskets that the Americans favored and copied for decades. These were the standard muskets of the line from 1717 until the percussion Model of 1842. This was one of the last flintlock models put into service. The Model 1816 was only produced for six years before the Model 1822 was introduced.
The overall condition is near fine. Armory bright finish. Original flintlock. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and reflective. Markings clear throughout. The stock has a small repair on the right side between the front and middle barrel bands. Otherwise, solid throughout.
