Description:
Winchester 1897 12 Gauge E model solid frame which appears to be "As issued" from 1910. 30" full choke barrel. Approximately 80-85% bluing appears original. Guns of this era had 2 1/2" chambers from the factory. This one has not been modified. Solid frame guns in their original configuration are rare but I have never seen one of this age in such outstanding condition. The butt stock does have several light to moderate dings that don't show well in the pictures, and there is a light somewhat hard to see crack in the wood at the receiver. This is common and is easily fixed. The bore is mint, and the unmodified action works very well and locks up tight. It has a 14" LOP and a black hard rubber butt plate.
