Serial #16,283, all matching numbers including the grips which are numbered inside. All original and complete. Made from the late 1850's to early 1860's. The revolver has nice metal, markings, and edges throughout. It is marked on the top of the barrel, "E. WHITNEY/N.HAVEN". It is fully "U.S. Sub Inspected" on all main parts. All of the metal on the revolver has an untouched & even natural chocolate brown patina throughout it. The loading lever pin is a civil war replacement but works correctly. This definitely looks like it was made in the field during the war. The brass trigger guard is fine and also untouched throughout. The grips are fine throughout and have a visible U.S. Inspectors Cartouche on the left side. They are numbered inside to the revolver. The gun has a fine & tight action. The bore is very good.
