Description:
Holland & Holland & Holland Custom Order 20 Bore - Provenance & Order Sheet - Phil Coggan Engraved Signed Both Plates - 5 lbs 9 ozs (the lightest 20ga H&H offers) - 99% - ca.1991 - Custom Case & Cover - I will go out on a limb and say that this package includes all accesories that a shotgun owner of this magnitude would need: including screwdrivers, pull through bore cleaner, push rod, swabs, brushes, oil bottles, patches, etc... the gun is a personal upland gun of mine and I have thoroughly enjoyed it - it is beyond magnificent in beauty, craftsmanship, quality, and I consider it to be the finest shotgun I have ever owned. It dispatches birds with ease and it can be carried all day. Phil Coggan is booked for three years - I reached out to Holland almost two years ago to have a 28ga to match it - I was told he would be retiring and would not be able to get to the 28ga.  It shows handling marks on wood and metal, but they are minor.  I shot it a lot in the last 20 months and wore some the gold off of the front trigger. If you study the photos, you will be amazed, but the photos do the gun no justice. The engraving, metal and wood are way nicer in the hands. It is a dream gun in the field and gunroom. The straps for the leather case itself have never been used and are still in original wrapping. The Push Rods were still wrapped in their tissue - this is an incredible package. Also, during my conversations with H&H regarding building a 28ga, the quote would land somewhere north of $250,000 USD plus... and a 2-3 year wait.  The larger part of this would be that Phil Coggan would not be the engraver and I would have to risk that one of their finest engravers would be available to do the work. There's likely, in this day and age, a finer engraver available to do the work. Take your time reviewing the photos and call me if you have real interest and have further questions.
