The Vaquero was introduced in 1993 to meet demand for modern revolvers to be used in the growing sport of cowboy action shooting. The Vaquero was updated in 2005 to the New Vaquero to reduce its overall size to more closely match the dimensions of the Colt Single Action Army while being much safer with its transfer bar design. .357 Magnum
