The Bullard Repeating Arms Company attempted to compete for sales against the likes of Winchester, Marlin, and Whitney. The fierce competition stymied their sales and profits and thus halted the manufacture of these formidable lever actions after just a few years, despite their smooth and fast actions and quality craftsmanship.
