Description:
1894 Winchester Rifle manufactured in 1894. .38-55 caliber with 26" round barrel and full magazine tube. I will rate the bore an 8.5 on a scale from 1 to 10. All markings are still nice and sharp, screw heads are in well above average condition. Correct front and rear sights. Barrel and tube are showing 50 to 55% of their original blue with the remainder a nice gray / brown patina. There are some nicks, scrapes, and scratches showing on both barrel and magazine tube (see pics). Receiver retains 70 to 75% of it's original blue. There are still case colors showing on hammer and lever. Action functions nicely. Both forend and buttstock are in good condition. Both pieces of wood are still proud (wood is higher than the metal). Someone years ago added a very thin layer of shellac, which was common back in the day. Correct buttplate. Very nice and above average antique / 1st Year 1894 Winchester in a great caliber and with a very nice bore. I will consider trades and I offer a layaway plan (contact me for the full details).
