Description:
The Colt M1877 is a double action revolver manufactured by Colt's Patent Fire Arms from January 1877 to 1909. The left side of the barrel on this example is marked "COLT. D. A. 38". The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame is marked "PAT. SEPT. 19, 187x /" " .5," 72. /" JAN. 19," 75." and with a circled rampant colt logo. The underside of the frame at the grip frame, the front of the trigger guard just behind it and the front underside edge of the backstrap are marked "157108". The left front of the trigger guard is marked "5". The screw heads have slightly distorted slots except for the hammer screw. The rear face of the cylinder is marked "0". The rear of the loading gate is marked "564". The front sight is blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a "V" groove in the top strap. The grips are checkered hard rubber on a bird's head grip frame, with a Rampant Colt in an oval at the top of each panel. .38 Colt

Metal Condition: "The original finish rates about 25% remaining. The metal is free of dents, gauges, and deep scratches.
Wood Condition: The hard rubber checkering has smoothed slightly on the edges where they taper to a point at the bottom.
Bore Condition: "The bore is bright with spots of pitting, but the rifling is very good for a gun of this age.
Barrels: 4.5" barrel.
Triggers: SA/DA.
Sights: Fixed.
