For sale is an 1873 winchester rifle i purchased from a seller on G.I. It was advertised as follows "Collectors, this is an 1881 made Winchester 1873 in 44 WCF. It is an antique and can ship directly to you. It is original with a nice shiny bore and 24in barrel".. Upon receiving the rifle it appeared o.k. upon disassembly i discovered the Barrel had been replaced, The magazine tube is not original and in fact is an old piece of pipe that was manufactued to imitate a magazine tube. The forearm cap does not fit the barrel due to the barrel being replaced, the sights are not original, and the rifle has been restocked. Unfortunately the disassembly was done after the 3 day inspection period and the seller would not work with me. I am now offering this as a parts gun for what it is. Not an original but a parts gun. I purchased the rifle for 2k. I am posting for best offer. If you have any questions regarding this rifle or require additional pictures please contact me.
When i discovered the rifle was not as advertised i contacted Barry hoping he would work with me on a solution. BAsically i was told it is out of the 3 day inspection period and quote "As discussed i clearly told you I know nothing about these gun. I am sorry they weren't as expected but there is nothing I can now or will be able to do for Best regards, Barry".
After contacting G.I. i was informed Shooting investments has been listing firearms sine 2008.
I have listed this rifle as an 1873 Winchester and am trying to recover my losses. As stated it is as how i received it and maybe someone can utilize the parts. If i can provide any more information or detailed pictures please let me know. I have listed the price for what i have into the rifle. I know it is no where worth what i paid for it now so i am offering it at Best offer. Thanks
