Description:
The Ruger No. 1 was designed for single shot "fair chase" hunting. This is the African variant with a heavier barrel, open sights, and provision for scope. The S/N indicates a 1978 date of manufacture. This coincides with the Lyman Centennial where Lyman added a S/N "L78-000X" to commemorate their Centennial Anniversary. Mostly these seem to be .45-70s, but this is .375 H&H Magnum, unusual. .375 H&H Magnum
