Very nice J.D. Dougall double barrel shotgun manufactured in 1874. The receiver has beautifully scalloped fences with tall, engraved hammers. The receiver, lock plates, trigger guard and top tang are exquisitely engraved with about 60-70% coverage of extremely fine English foliage arabesque patterns. Barrels are brown damascus and bores are fairly shiny with minimal to no pitting noted. Very nicely figured stock with drop of 1 5/8" and 2 3/8" at the comb and heel respectively. LOP 13 3/4" to the front trigger. English grip with recent recutting of the checkering. 30" uncut barrels are choked cylinder & improved cylinder. Patented Dougall Lockfast has the rear facing lever that slides the barrels forward on a concentric cam and allows them to drop, opening the breech.
