Description:
Mint Condition Trap Door Springfield .45-70. Was delivered to the Iowa National Guard and never issued.  The gun still had manufacturing grease in the barrel when I bought it. I fired it about 10 rounds and it has been preserved in my gun safe for nearly 30 years. Here's the rub:

The stock says 1886
The receiver was made in 1887
The block says Model 1878 and it is not the same finish

So it appears to be put together from parts at the armory.

There are a few dings in the forearm, apparently from various storage racks at the armory.  A little bit of  rub mark on the barrel and on the butt plate from where it sat in a rack for over a hundred years.  The bore is perfect as are the chamber, trap door and sights.  All of the markings are crisp showing no signs of wear or rust.

This is an antique and does not require an FFL for transfer and shipping.  I don't have a clue as to its value so make me an offer that I can't refuse.
