Fine Vintage 1930s .22 Bolt Action Stevens Model 66 Rifle
Offered here for sale and just acquired is this very fine vintage 1931 to 34 22 bolt action rifle which is very popular in its day as a boys rifle. "Savage/Stevens Collectors History" lists this rifle as being made in 1930 and in the book (page 102) has an ad from a 1931 "Field & Stream" showing this version of the M-66. Calling it "The NEW" Model 66. The specimen is all original and in very sound condition it has a 24 inch barrel and a magazine which holds ten rounds of 22 long rifle. It is a takedown model with a grooved receiver for sure grip. As a model 66 it is the early version of the Stevens arm which was made all the way up to 1948. The barrel and receiver retain just about all of their original blue finish. The stock has assorted us marks but also is in flight condition with no cracks. Surely a rifle for the shooting enthusiasts especially for a youth and should make a good present for anyone but as an early Stevens model 66 it is also a fine collectible. L78 BZZX $295
