Description:
Manufactured in 1955. Red front bead sight and white mid bead sight on the solid rib choked marked on the barrel skeet, and 2 7/8 inch chamber. The left side of the barrel at the breech is marked with "-MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S. AMERICA-/-WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-", "-WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK-", and "MODEL 12- 28 GA. - 2 7/8 CHAM./SKEET". The frame's top and left of the barrel at the breech are marked with the Winchester oval proof. Removal of the buttstock reveals the "28" correctly marked on the rear of the stock retention bolt sleeve on the back of the receiver. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the breech end of the magazine extension and mounted with a select walnut checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap and checkered factory buttplate. The length of the pull is 14 inches, the drop at the heel is 1 3/4 inches, and the drop at the comb is 1 3/8 inches. Includes a factory box, serial numbered "1519965", a single digit off from this shotgun, but matching the item in rib, gauge, and choke markings. The label is also ink-stamped "SPECIAL" in the upper left corner.
Near new in the box with only light handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with a complete label, some old tape, and storage wear. If you want to own one of the most sought-after Winchester Model 12, 28 gauges, here it is!
