Antique Iver Johnson 2nd model Safety Hammerless Top Break .38 S&W Revolver
Introducing the Iver Johnson 2nd Model 1st variation large frame .38 S&W top break revolver, a true gem from the late 19th century. This particular model, serial number D 19825, was produced 1896.
This revolver features a 5-shot capacity, auto ejecting, top break, large frame
Condition: 3 ¼” raised rib barrel with a good bore showing very minor spot pitting from black powder use and still retains good rifling. The metal of the revolver has only traces of the original bluing with retainer turning to an antique gun metal gray patina.
The original owl monogramed black checkered hard rubber grips are in good condition with only minor wear, no chips or cracks but could use a good cleaning. The top-strap markings remain crisp and legible. Double action works fine with the barrel to frame fit tight. Timing seems ok but has some cylinder play at lock-up and cylinder spins freely.
