Description:
A late production Police Model example. This rifle came out of the NY State Prison system many years ago. Approximately 60,000 Model 1907s were manufactured with an undetermined number being the Police Model. 20" barrel and I will rate the bore an 8 on a scale from 1 to 10. Standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver, blade and elevation adjustable sights, and smooth pistol grip stock. Comes with an extra original clip.
The barrel and operating rod retain 80-85% plus original blue finish showing some spots of gray and some minor scratches. The receiver retains 75-80% original blue with the remainder a nice brown / gray patina. Action functions nicely. All markings are nice and crisp. Matching serial numbers. The wood is very fine with a hairline crack along the grain near the back of receiver in the pistol grip area, some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Correct metal buttplate and sling swivel. Front swivel is missing (see pic).
