The lock is marked "RAMSAY SUTHERLAND" in front of the hammer and "TOWER" behind it. The lock and hammer have a natural darkening patina on them. There is some light natural peppering around the touch hole. The barrel has English proof marks on the backside and has a lighter patina throughout it. All of the very early brass hardware on the musket is fine and untouched with the same mellow color on all parts. All screws are fine. The wood on the musket is excellent throughout with a wonderful grain & color to it. The barrel measures 39 inches in length and the entire musket is 54 1/2 inches long. It has a fine action and bore. This Is An Excellent Example Of An Early 1800's "RAMSAY SUTHERLAND, TOWER" Short Land Pattern Flintlock Musket Which Has Some 2nd Model Bess Hardware & Parts On It Which Makes It Very Early 1800's In Age!
