Here are a consecutive pair of prewar M1 Garand rifles. Serial numbers 30097 & 30098. March 1940, gas trap era. Both have the 7th round modification.
30097 with CMP Cert. Expert grade, New Criterion barrel, New wood. Typical expert grade, mix of parts. Light pitting on the heel and under the heel.
30098 with CMP Cert. Field grade. SA 7-50 barrel MW=5 (M2 round almost goes in to the case), TE=2, bright bore. Mix of parts.
30098 was purchased by myself from the CMP, 30097 was found a few months later on the net.
