Description: Note: Buy Now will end the listing, we will both be notified, and will complete the transaction privately. Guns International does not provide a checkout system like some other s. Marlin Model 39 lever action rifle, caliber 22 short, long, long rifle, 24" octagon barrel, full tubular magazine with inner loading tube, plain walnut stocks with plain pistol grip and hard rubber Marlin logo butt plate, case hardened receiver/hammer/lever, take down frame, open sights, plain trigger, serial number 12017, made approximately 1925. Upper tang has the 6-pointed star to indicate a firearm of exceptional quality when it left the factory. CONDITION: Receiver, hammer and lever retain 90% original bright case colors. Stocks show some nicks and scuffs, with a couple of white flecks of paint on the butt stock, no splits or cracks, fore arm slightly loose due to age drying over the last 100 years. Action is butter-smooth, and the half-cock safety works as it should. Take down is tight with no wobble. Front and rear sights are correct. Marlin "Bullseye" is present in the bottom of the butt stock. Barrel and mag tube retain 95% bright, original blue. Bore has the original Ballard style rifling (pre Micro Groove), is super sharp and shiny, BUT there is a ring and bulge 9 1/2" back from the muzzle, otherwise would rate a 10 of 10. As it is, it is far enough away from the muzzle that accuracy shouldn't be affected (I have not test-fired this rifle). Without this issue, this would be a $2000 rifle. I can't go back in time to undo the issue, so there's no sense crying over spilt milk. As it stands, it still is a beautiful, early Model 39 Marlin that will continue to appreciate in value over time due to its condition and rarity. Offers welcomed. No international sales. No sales to Alaska and Hawaii. I am registered with the California DOJ so CA buyers are welcome. Must ship to FFL or C&R license holder, (New York State Buyer must have item ship to FFL Only, NO EXEPTIONS). Payment by personal check, bank check or postal money order (sorry no credit cards). 3-day, non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Packed with care and shipped FedEx Ground with tracking for a flat $40 fee.
