Description:
The Smith & Wesson SW series, most commonly referred to as the Smith & Wesson Sigma, was Smith & Wesson's first venture into using synthetic materials in pistol construction, with high-strength polymer material for the frame. When S&W introduced the original Sigmas in 1994, the SW40F was one of the first pistols purpose-designed to handle the .40 S&W caliber. The Sigma incorporates a pre-set striker firing mechanism and was designed to be a flagship full sized model as denoted by the letter F. It features a 4.5-inch barrel, black polymer frame and a dark factory blued slide. It also has a "double stack" 15 round capacity and the same grip angle as the Colt 1911A1. Later models were limited to only 10 rounds with the passing of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban making this an original pre-ban model. .40 S&W
