Description:
The U.S. Model 1896 rifle was manufactured in the Springfield Armory. The Krag was the United States main service rifle from 1892 through 1903 when it was replaced by the Model 1903 rifle. This Model 1896 was manufactured in 1897. Like many surplus bolt-action rifles it was lightened and sporterized to make a serviceable hunting rifle. .30-40 Krag
