About Us: I have had great luck in my sales through "GUNS INTERNATIONAL". This is the only site I use and do not plan to change.

Description:
This 1780 pistol signed "GILL" on the left, likely for Thomas Gill of London, Uses a lightly engraved box lock action with a lever on the left side that rotates the pan to switch between four powder charges to fire the four barrels in succession.  The barrels are numbered "5" through "8" starting on the lower  right barrel indicating that this is the second pistol of a pair.  The underside has Ordnance private proofs.  The pistol has a sliding safety latch and is mounted with a smooth walnut grip with a blank shield-shape silver escutcheon on the rear.  An unusual, relatively rare pocket gun from the 1700's. This is a screw barrel gun that you screw the barrels off with a wrench to load.  The notches in the muzzles are for the wrench to engage the barrels for removal. The powder is poured into the breach of each barrel and the bullet is place on top of the breech and the barrel replaced to complete the loading.

Antique, no paperwork in most locations.
