About Us: Specializing in Antique Firearms!

Description:
The Remington 1858 .44 is a black powder revolver that was widely used during the American Civil War and beyond. Favored for its solid frame design, which was stronger and more reliable than the Colt revolvers of the time. Also known for being one of the most accurate revolvers of its era. Approximately 132,000 were produced between 1861-1868 (Army Model).

This is a government issued civil war revolver dating back to 1863. Caliber .44 Percussion (Cap & Ball) equipped with an interchangeable 6-round cylinder for quick reloading if an extra cylinder was handy.  This revolver has all matching serial numbers and appears to be in excellent working condition. The finish has been worn down leaving the metal with some pitting and speckling throughout and of course the overall handling marks accumulated in its life time. The bore is a little dark with strong rifling and moderate pitting throughout. The grips show some nicks taken out of the bottom remaining free of any damage affecting the integrity. Very faint but still visible, you can see the cartouche stamp on the left grip. Overall, I would say this is a well-kept piece of history still capable of what it was all those years ago.
