Description:
Afred Lancaster sidelock non ejector SXS made in 1913 ( london Proofed 70mm 1913 ) for I W Fredricks ESQ . This fine firearm has beautiful Damascus bbls and Circassian walnut stocks that retain thier beauty today. This fiirearm was #2 of a pair with the Jones Under Lever "Screw Lock " closing system that was one of the most reliable of the day. The original 16 bore barrels were properly cleaned and polished each year after much use during the shooting seasons in England And Scotland. The current owner of this fine 112 year old shotgun was reluctant to submit it to the London proof house for reproofing and had Briley Mfg custom fit a set of full legnth tubes in 28 bore to those bright bore barrels for his upland game and clay target persuits..those insert tubes carrry 2 IC screw chokes and two Modified....more are available from Briley.
The beautiful Circassian walnut stocks have been finished to a fine clarity and luster and measure 1 5/8' drop at the middle of the comb and 21/4" drop at the center of the custom carved wooden butt plate....overall legnth is 14 1/2". The stock bend is 1/2" with "toe out" for the right handed shooter.
This fine firearm has a wonderful "between the hands " balance and the gun weighs 6 pounds 11oz with the 28 ga tubes installed....making it an ideal Ladies gun as well as for the Gents.
