Excellent, collector grade Winchester 1886 Deluxe Rifle in 40-82 caliber.
S/N 30421 made in 1889 (antique).
26" Octagon Barrel with full length magazine tube.
VG-Exc original bluing rated at 90-95%.
Some vibrant case colors remain on much of the receiver, hammer and forend cap, showing less pronounced on the lever and mostly faded on bottom surfaces and the crescent style buttplate.
Beautiful deluxe wood set with very nice color and pronounced graining, original lacquer, and clean checkering panels. The inner factory stamped deluxe assembly marks are present, correct and matching. The wood shows some typical light handling marks, but has no significant mars or distractions, nor any cracks.
This rifle features a factory set trigger.
Sights consist of a bead front, Winchester sporting rear, and a Lyman tang sight.
The mechanical functions are all excellent and crisp including the set trigger, which works perfectly.
The bore is excellent throughout; bright and shiny with just a trace of light patchy frost midway.
Comes with a Cody Museum letter.
