Description: Marlin Model 29 pump action rifle in caliber 22 S, L, LR, holds 15 short, 12 long, or 11 long rifle cartridges, 23” barrel with a bright excellent bore with strong rifling. The barrel and magazine tube retain about 85% original blue toning to a plum color. The balance of metal surfaces are largely toning to a plum color with generous remnants of original blue in the protected areas and on the bolt (note the camera flash washes out the color, there is much more blue/plum than seen in the photos). The barrel and tang markings are lightly worn but very legible. As expected, there is bluing loss on the magazine tube due to the pump operation. The smooth walnut stocks rate near excellent with some scattered light handling marks, light scratches, and a dark area on the toe line. The original sights are intact. The pump action is smooth, the half cock safety functions as it should, and the hammer/mainspring is very strong. There is a raised gold running rabbit on the left side of the receiver, possibly a factory special order or denoting a special addition similar to the 39A Squirrel Rifle (39ADL).
