"Serial number 131566. Made in 1890. 45 LC caliber with a 7.5" barrel. This is an excellent example of a cavalry model inspected by Rinaldo A. Carr. This gun has 95% of the original blue on the barrel. The frames still has 50%+ of the case colors. The grips are excellent with sharp cartouches. This gun came out of the collection of Captain William Peterson of the US Navy. He was a contributor to the authors of the book The Study of the Colt Single Action Revolver. He was know for only collecting the best of the best in Colt Single Actions. This gun comes with a letter by noted Colt Single Action expert John Kopec. He declares this gun as being exceptional and awarded it the coveted gold seal with the ribbons which is only reserved for the very finest specimens he sees.
