Description:
Serial #E14691, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1941-dated rifle that has retained about 85-90% of the original wartime matte blue finish, with silvering at the muzzle, as well as thin gray fading along the exposed surfaces. The matching numbered bolt is equipped with a No. 1 SMLE cocking-piece, and likewise exhibits some gray fading on the handle and on the bearing surfaces. The walnut buttstock, forend, and handguards have minor handling marks scattered throughout the armory-applied oil finish, and there is a large rack number stamped into the right side of the butt: "70." The rifle is equipped with a matching-numbered magazine, and is a fine-near excellent example of a WW2 No. 4 rifle. FFL or C&R;
