The M1884 trapdoor is an improved version of the previous model 1873, the most significant difference being a new rear sight design. This particular rifle was built in 1892 as denoted by the serial number and the cartouche in the wrist of the stock. 32.625" barrel with a poor bore. The finish of the bore is rusty with some pitting throughout, but the riflig is stil present and overall is still shootable. The wood shows the usual dings and dents of a 133 year old rifle. The only significant damage would be a small crack in the right side in the wrist (pictured). The finish of the metal on the exterior is mostly worn down due to age, and there is shallor pitting throughout the rifle. Everything still functions as it should, even the cleaning rod/bayonet and the small door in the butt plate. Serial number 544415 NOTE: The state of New Jersey does NOT HONOR any pre-1898 antique laws. This rifle MUST go through an FFL. Shipping, handling and insurance varies on each firearm from $55.00 to $100 depending size, weight and zip code. To be determined after sale.
