CASED PAIR OF FLINTLOCK DUELING PISTOLS BY LAING OF EDINBURGH.
These early 19th century pistols by Laing are in good + overall condition, exhibiting only a small number of the usual expected minor scrapes and dings from normal handling. Although one ramrod is missing, its screw extractor end remains. There is a very minor cut and chip by one barrel tang and both barrels show signs of an added oil stained brown patina. With the exception of these minor events, neither the guns or the case have suffered from any restoration or any significant damage. The full length, (sharp) chequered stocks are complete with silver thumb piece and barrel wedge escutcheons as well as silver butt caps. Both complete lock assemblies are mechanically fine. The original mahogany case retains it’s period green baize lining and enjoys a straight, tight lid. label is possibly a reprint.
