Description:
The Winchester Model 67 is a single-shot, bolt-action .22 caliber rimfire rifle manufactured and sold from 1934 to 1963 by Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Based on the gun's characteristics, I believe the rifle is post 1937. The Model 67 was never produced with serial numbers for the American market because they were not required on American firearms prior to the Gun Control Act of 1968. According to The Winchester handbook “In a count of production from 1934 to 1949, only 9721 of these shorter rifles were made, and they sold new for bewteen $6.50 and $7. 50.
This Model 67 had a 27-inch barrel with a beaded front sight and an adjustable rear peep sight, both dovetailed into the barrel, drift-adjustable for windage. This particular rifle is stamped on barrel that it is chambered for .22 Short, .22 Long, or .22 Long Rifle cartridges. The rifle features plain uncheckered walnut stock with a pistol grip and a standard Wincheter composition buttplate. The rifle is a takedown model; as the barreled action is removed by turning a screw under the stock using a coin.
