Superb WWII Inland/Gen. Motors U.S. M1 A1 Paratrooper .30 Carbine
Offered here for sale and just acquired is this superb US Model M1-A1 .30 caliber carbine with folding paratrooper stock. This specimen, serial number 4999265 with case receiver manufactured in 1944, from the third production block (serial number range 4,879,526 to 5,549,821) manufactured by Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors between January to August 1944, and also falls within the second serial block (approximate range 4,950,000 to 6,650,000) of M1A1 Paratrooper production. "2-44" dated Inland barrel. This carbine is in fine condition with an excellent bore. The stock is stamped with the letters “A.A.Y” and the folding stock extension is complete with leather pad and oiler. There are numerous painted characters on the stock which in our past history may indicate that this was issued during the war to US And Korean forces during the Korean War. However there are no import marks on the piece to indicate importation all which make it more enviable to the military collector. The bore is excellent. The barrel retains almost all of its Parkerized finish. The stock is very sound with a few handling marks. The stock has a number “23” painted on it and also what appears to be “12 APS”. Shown without magazine however we will include one with shipment depending upon magazine capacity allowable in the state where individual resides. Certainly a fine collectible piece which is seen service use in issuance.
