Description:
It has been quite some time since I have seen a model 700 Remington in this caliber. The .222 Remington Magnum was a favorite of mine in the 1960's. I've always wondered why it was never chambered in the M16. This particular example is in excellent original condition with an excellent bore and chamber and equipped with a period Redfield 2-7x one inch scope as shown in the photos. Kind of an iconic varmint cartridge. I do not think this gun was used much at all - probably just sat in the gun vault.
