32553-SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR DOCUMENTED SPRINGFIELD-KRAG U.S. MODEL 1892 RIFLE. Springfield Armory and National Archives records document serial number 5214 Model 1892 Krag as issued to the 20th Kansas Volunteer Infantry in 1898 and in their inventory March 12, 1899 at Caloocan, Philippines during the Spanish-American War. Very rare unaltered original Model 1892 with 1895 dated Ordnance cartouche. Has the early model double strap front band with bayonet lug and cleaning rod. Early Model 1892 plain butt plate with no trap. Excellent condition with 95% plus blue and much of the case hardening. Stock with the original finish and excellent cartouche. Old hairline repair at wrist barely visible. Working order and very good bore. With copies of archives documents. $4900.
