Description:
The Model 88 was produced to modernize the Winchester rifle line up. It departed from the 60-year-old designs by utilizing detachable box magazine and hiding the hammer inside the action. By doing so, the user could carry an extra, loaded, magazine for backup. The rifle could also use more powerful cartridges with Spitzer bullets resulting in more reliable accuracy and better success. This one was produced in 1958 and features a high grade walnut stock with oak leaf and basket-weave checkering. The hood over the front sight is intact, and overall the rifle is in marvelous condition. .308 Winchester
