Description:
Easily one of the rarer and nicer NID's we've had lately, this beautiful 5E Double has all the factory original options. Gun built with 32" ventilated rib barrels, beavertail forend, original SST, auto ejectors. Forend is nicely checkered with engraved latch release. Casehardened frame is beautifully engraved and gold inlaid, most likely the work of Bill McGraw, master engraver at Ithaca during this time period. The capped pistol grip American Walnut buttstock is nicely figured and beautifully checkered as seen in the photos and the butt terminates with its proper Hawkins brand pad and small Monte Carlo. Gun is housed in a modern canvas and leather case which is in excellent condition.
The gun remains in beautiful overall condition. Barrels with about 97% original blue. Frame with more than 85% original case color remaining. Buttstock and forend are excellent and sound with beautiful proper finishes. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. Gun has not seen a ton of use and is well cared for through the years.
