An Early Civil War Moore's Patent Firearms Co. S.A. Belt Revolver With A 5 Inch Barrel In Fine Plus Condition. Serial # 4992, made 1861-1863. All original and complete. The revolver has fine metal, markings, & edges. It has excellent engraving on the frame, backstrap, & trigger guard. The barrel & cylinder retain most of their original blue with some small areas showing light thinning to a plum blue patina. The frame, backstrap, & trigger guard retain nearly all of their original factory silver on them. The hammer shows darkening case colors on both sides. All screws are fine with original blue. The original grips are excellent throughout with their original varnish on them. It has an fine action and bore in it. Many Of These Moore Belt Model Revolvers Were Privately Purchased By Union Officers & Enlisted Men And Carried During The Civil War. This Is A Very Fine Example Of An Early Civil War Moore's Patent Firearms Co. S.A. Belt Revolver With A 5 Inch Barrel!
