Smith and Wesson 1st Model Frontier DA 44 Russian cal, Bore Exc, Mech Exc, Original Early wood grips VG, Has a 6” ribbed barrel with original front sight and 2 line SW address and patent date markings. Serial#7663 all matching including the grips. Probably 1st year production and first produced in 1881. Has original lanyard Ring. Metal overall has a fading original blue grey patina finish with brighter blue in protected areas. Also has some case colors on the trigger and hammer. Overall a very Early , clean and unabused pistol Very Early Production
