Description:
The Savage people developed a pistol during the same time period as the Colt 1911, and sent it to trials. The pistol lost out to the 1911, but had some very interesting features. The 1917 capitalized upon them. They included a return spring coiled around the barrel, and a rather triangular stock. The "hammer" is nothing more than a cocking lever for the striker attached to it, although one could also call it a cocking indicator. .32 Auto
