Description: Near NIB Early Post WWII Walther PPK 9MM Auto Pistol Offered here for sale and just acquired is another highly collectible classic pistol from our galleries in Southport, CT. The early post-World War II Walther PPK pistols were influenced by the war’s aftermath and Germany’s division. Before WWII, the Walther PPK was already a well-established compact semi-automatic pistol, known for its reliability, double-action/single-action (DA/SA) trigger, and sleek design. However, after the war, Walther’s production capabilities were heavily impacted. Post-WWII PPK Production occurred in the Manurhin factory in France in (1945–1952) after Germany's surrender in 1945. French forces seized remaining parts, machinery, and technical data, transferring them to Manurhin in France. Manurhin produced PPKs under the Walther name from 1952 onward. This specimen, serial number 129388A was manufactured in the late 1940s to early 1950s. This specimen appears to have seen very little if any finish and was put away for years in storage. Images show some residual dried oil on surfaces which we will clean before shipping. Beautiful finish. Beautiful grips in original box with manual and test target. The post-war PPK remained a popular choice for military, law enforcement, and civilian concealed carry, gaining further fame through its association with James Bond films starting in the 1960s.
